Happy Birthday Congresswoman BH!

The author wishes to express his greetings to the woman behind Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Partylist, Congresswoman Bernadette Herrera-Dy.

Congresswoman Bernadette (BH) Herrera-Dy, Bagong Henerasyon Partylist

From her humble beginnings, Cong. BH (as she is fondly called) started to envision on ways to help other people, especially the women, underprivileged and the youth. In 2003, she started forming a Non-Government Organization (NGO) which is called Bagong Henerasyon Foundation. The organization grew up because of its continued principle to help. It was awarded by the World Bank in 2005 because of its pilot project Computer-on-Wheels which aims to bring technology to all. Now, because of its great impact and success, several politician-leaders adopted the project.

Computer-on-Wheels

After serving three consecutive terms in Quezon City Council, BH dreamed bigger because she wants to help more people in a larger scale. Armed with this dream and prayer, Bagong Henerasyon Partylist won a seat in Congress last May 2010 Elections. With its battle cry, Partylist ng Kabataan, Kababaihan at Sambayanan (Partylist of the Youth, Women and Citizen), the partylist continued its program, now bigger and larger in scope. Aside from regular projects and training programs in QC, the partylist thru BigHands and Skilltech Foundation also conducted its program in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Kalibo and other Metro Manila cities such as Manila, Marikina, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Caloocan and Paranaque. BH still aims more. More projects, more venues, more people to help.

BH has the following programs: Wellness Massage, Finishing Course for Call Center Agents, Food and Beverage Services, BARISTA, Computer Literacy, English Proficiency and more. To have a complete detail about its programs, you can reach them thru facebook account Bagong Henerasyon Partylist or call 9866714 or 4132434.

Philippine Transport System; Where to go?

Transportation sometimes indicates how wealthy a nation is. The system, the modes and the techniques that are used depend on how creative and advance a country can be.

In the Philippines, jeepneys are considered as the King of the Road. Even until now, you can see, from the urban and rural areas, they are present. Students prefer those with metallic design at the back and with loud sound. They call it HATAW. Of course the classic design is still there, with design horses at the bumpers, antennas and colorful drawings. You can also tell if the person that owns it worked abroad. You can see names or phrases such as "Katas ng Saudi" (Fruit of Saudi, the owner worked there for years). The Americans leave their jeep here way back in 50's . After, Filipino minds creatively re-designed it for mass transportation purposes. Thus, Philippine jeepneys, the King of Philippine Road came into existence. One proud brand is SARAO.

Thru the years, because of the growing population, the Philippine government find ways in order to improve the transportation system. In 70's, construction of the first elevated train in the Philippines started called LRT or Light Rail Transit which runs from Monumento in Caloocan City to Baclaran in Paranaque City.

Improved LRT Cab

If you are traveling along the country's busiest road locally called as EDSA, your trip is not complete without having a ride in MRT. Running from North Ave in Quezon City to Taft Ave in Pasay City, this mass transit system caters to about million passengers everyday.

MRT Line 2

I was inspired to write about this topic because of my experience this morning. On my way to Paranaque, I opted to use MRT because it really cuts the traveling time since I am from QC. Eventhough I know that you have to expect piles of people making their way up, I am still surprised and maybe stressed. Everyday, the scenario is like this.

Passengers pile on their way to MRT
I just wonder, what if we have enough trains to cater to this people? What if we can upgrade the system by applying every possibilities to accommodate all passengers? If we have plans, when can it be attained?

I hope that authorities find way. It will be a big help. If we achieved that maybe we can smile like Ms. Anne Curtis when she opted to ride and use MRT.

Bustos, Bulacan Invasion

Well, it's Valentines Day last year that I first set my foot in Bustos, Bulacan. I was actually surprised that my superior asked me to train outside Manila. well, I've felt that maybe they just want me out of their sight (waaaaaaa!) that's why they throw me away. But, i'm wrong. My days in Bustos are totally awesome with so many beautiful memories that still lingers in my memory sometimes.

First wave - I call them my Bustos Babies. Of course, its obvious because they are the first people that I handled in Bustos. One thing that I love about this class is that they are really serious about the topics that we are discussing, they really exert effort in making our activities fun and of course, they are one big group that you will love to be with. One good friend, Julius Louise Elauria, experienced my bonding moment with them.

Wave I- Bustos, Bulacan

Second Wave - Just thinking of this group I am feeling goosebumps, not on a negative aspect, but of course positive. I love this group because they are the happiest group that I handled in Bustos. I'm not telling that they are not serious when it comes to work, but they just have this funny atmosphere every time. Need evidence? Here it is..

Wave 2 - Bustos, Bulacan

Third Wave - I thought that i'll be handling one group only, but of course, I ended up having three waves. I did not felt any regret because my third wave was the most serious group. I also ended up being a friend with one of them. You know !

Happy Anniversary BH-TESDA Finishing Course for Call Center Agents (Brgy. Capri!)

It's been a year now and I still remember the first day when I saw the impatient faces of these people. The reason? I'm late that time. See how they frown...

Barangay Capri Trainees with Me and Mr. Norman Marciano

Nah, I haven't experienced any dull moments with this bunch of souls. Everyday is a day of fun. We learn from each other. We share stories of FAILURES and TRIUMPHS. We are a big family.

with Julius Louis Elauria and The Boys!

The Girls

This also the chance for me to meet an old friend. Funny thing is that, she became a student.

with former classmate and a good friend, Jennylin Reymundo

I am really thankful that I was given a chance to work with you guys. This is one experience I will always cherish. Remember, its good to follow a path, but its much BETTER to CREATE your OWN PATH and leave a TRAIL.

Geared up; I AM READY :)

2011 will always be in my memory. This is the year when I was given a chance to get to know people of diverse personalities. My work pushed me to become a better person, learning from each and every training that I handled on different location. Geared up with those experiences; I am READY.

A big family problem arrived middle of this year. I was tested. My family as well. We know that God is always there to help us. We called HIM, and HE responded. It's over.Geared up with  a taste of such a downfall, I am READY. GOD is always with ME : )

I wonder why people have to list down a resolution every year. I am not making mine. I believe that if we want to become a better individual, we must ask GOD first to help us, share everything to HIM. Instead of binding yourself to a contract that you will run after, let us pray.

Lord God, we thank YOU for another year in our lives. Thank you for all the Blessings that we received. Thank you for every single day that You are with us. We believe that YOU are always on our side. We ask forgiveness for our shortcomings. I ask for your continuous guidance in order for us to attain our goals in life. Thank you very much.

I pray for your blessings be showered on me, my family, relatives, loved ones and to us all. Grant us the serenity to accept the things that we cannot change without YOU. We pray for everyone to have a sound health, piece of mind and a loving heart.

We pray for our brethren who were afflicted by calamities. We are asking for your intervention in order for it not to happen again. Please let all all of us know our part to help, and to understand our roles as guardians of Your creation.

We pray for an everlasting peace. May our intentions not be adversarial to one another. Grant us an ear ready to listen and a heart ready to understand.

Lastly, we pray for another year full of Blessings, Good Health, Better Opportunities. Many thanks for all of these. AMEN.

AS 2012 is approaching, I can say that I am GEARED UP; I am READY. : )

are you?

Welcome to my space...

Hello there! This is the first time I am posting in my new blog. I am actually excited about it, this is a product of being alone here in my room, 'coz my family members are out and enjoying the vacation. I actually opted to rest and stay.

This blog will show my activities, experiences and encounters from different people and different scenarios. Maybe others will find it non-sense and I respect them. Now, if you are interested, I can share to you a part of my space.

Welcome! :)
